Who uses your data?

Julien Merelle is responsible for personal data collected on this site. For questions or requests about your data: contact@realisticsimcockpit.com.

Subscription is optional and based on your consent. Your email address, language, subscription date and the version of the text you accepted are used to send Julien’s videos, projects and updates. Only Julien and the providers needed for hosting or delivery can access them. They are neither published nor sold.

The retention period is three years from subscription, unless you withdraw earlier. You can unsubscribe without an account using the link provided in emails or by contacting the address above. After a withdrawal is processed by this site, your email is removed from its list; a hash is retained for three years to honour your withdrawal. To subscribe again with the same address, contact Julien directly.

Emails are sent through Brevo, which receives the addresses needed for delivery. Unsubscribing from an email blocks future campaigns in Brevo. A suppression list is retained there to prevent accidental resubscription. You can ask Julien to have your data deleted from this provider. Brevo privacy policy.

Your messages

The form collects your name, organisation, email, enquiry and, optionally, website. Required fields are needed to reply. This processing relies on Julien’s legitimate interest in communicating with brands, retailers and partners. Messages are kept in the private administration for at most one year from receipt. They do not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Challenge

The game works without an account. Starting a race creates a cookie with a random identifier to recognise results linked to this browser. If you save a time, your chosen nickname, time and collisions are shown in the corresponding camera leaderboard. This relies on the legitimate interest in providing a consistent leaderboard and limiting fraud. Results are retained for at most three years after they are saved or improved.

Discord sharing is optional. After your authorization, the site receives your Discord ID and name, checks your membership and posts only after your confirmation. The encrypted authorization expires within fifteen minutes and is cleared once a post succeeds. The run used for sharing is kept for 24 hours; a result hash and message reference are retained for at most three years to prevent duplicates. Contact Julien to remove a message already posted in #challenge: deleting data on this site does not remove the Discord message.

YouTube

Thumbnails are hosted on this site. The Google/YouTube player loads only after you choose “Allow and play”. Google may then receive your IP address and device information and use trackers under its own policies. This choice applies to the open page and can be withdrawn below the player. You can also open the video directly on YouTube. Google’s policy.

Cookies and local storage

rs_newsletter_prompt : remembers dismissal for 30 days, or subscription for six months.
rs_racer : game identifier, at most one year.
rs_admin : administration session, at most eight hours; for Julien only.
Game camera, sound and nickname: preferences saved on your device until you clear them using the control above.

These items support the features you request; they are not used to track your browsing for advertising. No advertising measurement or AdSense banner is currently enabled.

Hosting and external services

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Form and game data are stored in the site database. Technical logs and IP address hashes support access security; application counters expire within one hour, with administrator login attempts limited over fifteen-minute windows.

OpenAI, Cloudflare, Google and Discord may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their policies describe their rules and safeguards: OpenAI, Cloudflare, Google, Discord.

Affiliate and social links lead to those services’ websites, which apply their own policies. Some affiliate links may earn the channel a commission.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw newsletter consent. Data portability applies where its conditions are met. Contact contact@realisticsimcockpit.com. You will receive a response within one month, unless a GDPR extension applies and you are informed. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.

Expired records are excluded from active lists and removed during the site’s next cleanup.
