First video in French: the new setup
In June 2023, I speak French on camera for the first time, in the studio that houses my cockpit. Until then, the channel had mainly featured English-language videos and immersive driving or flying footage. This short introduction outlines what comes next: explaining how I play, showing changes to the rig and sharing my experience with the equipment.
From racing to space simulation
My setup serves several purposes. For driving, I film GT3 cars and Formula 1 cars in particular. In space, I play Star Citizen and have just started a series covering the missions in Star Wars Squadrons. For these flights, I use two Thrustmaster joysticks and the pedals.
Switching to French should let me explain more of what goes with that footage: how I approach iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione or rFactor, and the choices I make around the cockpit. At this point, I announce that almost all forthcoming videos will be in French.
Showing the cockpit modifications
I am gradually changing the rig to improve immersion. Some ideas come from builds I have seen on YouTube; I also want to show how I made and adapted them at home. With the cockpit behind me, this video introduces that intention ahead of the detailed explanations planned for later content.
Feedback after using the equipment
I plan to return to the Thrustmaster T818 after several months of use, covering its strengths, weaknesses and the problems I have encountered. I also want to put that experience alongside bases from other brands, including Simagic and Fanatec, the latter having already been part of my equipment.
Another planned subject is head tracking: moving your head controls the camera movement in the game. I want to examine its usefulness in driving simulators, particularly with three screens. At this stage, these are forthcoming channel topics; this introduction does not yet present their results.
