Sim-Lab Xero Play: setting up and adjusting triple screens

I had already mentioned Sim-Lab’s Xero Play Triple Pivot adapters while researching triple-screen setups. This time, I install them on my own stand to replace conventional joining plates. Their main benefit appears in angle adjustment and the stability of the side arms. The video follows unboxing, installation of both pivots and the small adjustments once everything is assembled.

Pivots in place of joining plates

The box contains the aluminium parts and required mounting hardware. I find the pieces substantial, well finished and pleasant to handle. Each joint connects the central bar to a side arm, with markings to track the chosen angle.

The design replaces the plates that usually sandwich the profiles. It therefore retains the existing stand while changing how the arms connect and rotate.

Installation on the profiles

I begin by removing both side arms. Nuts slide into the slots, allowing the Sim-Lab parts to attach to each arm. I then install the corresponding pieces at the top and bottom of the central bar.

An M8 × 40 mm bolt and locknut connect the joint. I repeat the process on the other side. Measuring before tightening is essential: the upper and lower parts must sit at the same distance along the central bar so the pivot is properly aligned.

Adjusting angle and resistance

The markings make corrections easier to follow. Tightening the central pivot controls resistance to movement: it can remain easy to rotate while positioning the screens, or be tightened further to restrict movement.

Once installed, the assembly seems more stable and tidier. I can still make small angle changes quickly, which is exactly what I wanted from this accessory.

What we liked

  • Well-finished parts and straightforward installation.
  • Useful markings for adjusting the arms.
  • The stability achieved on my stand.

Is the addition necessary?

I appreciate it as a convenience improvement for triple screens. It is not essential if the existing fixings already meet the need. Installation and adjustment revealed no particular fault during this test.
